Back in 2006, Public Media Group created a commemorative 24 x 36 poster as a tribute to the career of J. Dilla. They used over 3000 pictures, including everyone who has ever worked with Dilla to create this iconic image remembering him. It was limited to a 1000 pieces and sold out in days. Ma Dukes found a stack of the posters in the her basement so they have them available again, each one signed & numbered by Ma Dukes. So you better holler at Public Media if you want yours....

Patta x Sneakernstuff x Limit Edition x A.R.C.

Ran across this one at Sneaker News... Here is a colab. done with Patta x Sneakernstuff x Limit Edition x A.R.C. Featuring the suede 3-Stripes and heeltab.. while the use of ultra-tough CORDURA® fabric down to the tongue increases durability and minimizes the scope for scuffs and brasions while remaining surprisingly lightweight. Black-on-black print logos spread cross the left and right heels, ‘REPS’ using an amalgamation of the distinctive store logo types on the footbed and a collection of five individually branded lace locks, plus a matching drawstring bag, made with the same CORDURA® brand fabric, ups the premium look and feel.

Keep Vinyl Alive....

Here is a quick little documentry called "Dig For Fire" from Habib Awam.. I was just glad to see Saigon get his shines and it was a good look for Statik Selektah on lacing up all the production... I liked what i heard, Saigon got some word play for sure.. There is no question that you can tell that Saigon is seasoned in this rapshit.. Statik Selektah does nice with the production(Saigon picked the right tracks)....All in all its a smooth project and no question they sounded like they had fun making it...

New Sh*t...

The new M.F. Doom album "Born Like This", excuse me i mean DOOM (that's what he goes by now) leaked in cyberspace over the weekend.. (Yup a straight leak before a week release) With a release date of March 24th and the 3 or 4 tracks that have already leaked from the album in cyberspace..I believe this leak could be real bad for the label no question... But to my surprise 99% of the links that people are using to download it are already broken.. (brothas be checkin) I don't even think this album link didn't even last for 24 hours.... So what that meant for me was a 30min. digg in cyberspace to find this album.. (which i did and scored it, no sun splashing me duke!) Was it worth it you ask??? Yeah i think so, Doom went in on this project then again he had to due to all the pressure on him to deliver.. There might be one questionable track on it wit some female M.C. spittin.. But other then that the whole album is solid with good Doom production and a well thought out project chalked with some jive samples to give it a 2009, Doom shine... If you get a chance support this one, cause it is actually WORTH to buy... Now here are a few tracks that i was feeling off the project...
Thumbs Up,
-P

Dilla News.. Check In Duke!

Dilla got a new project coming out called "Jay Stay Paid" which will be executive produced by Dilla's mother Maureen Yancey (aka Ma Dukes) along with the musical supervision of Dilla's only real musical idol, Pete Rock. "It wasn't rushed and it wasn't haphazard," explains Ms Yancey. "This album combines what he did in the beginning of his career, what he did in some of our early hospital stays, which was very deep, and some stuff pulled from old floppy disks & DATs. Its mind blowing...this is like the missing links to Dilla's legacy."

The format of the album plays like a radio show with Pete Rock as the program director. With regards to Pete's involvement, Ms. Yancey gets very excited, "Dilla wanted to pattern himself behind Pete. His dream was to become as close as possible to what Pete stood for. Pete meant everything to him. Dilla would have just been flabbergasted! " Pete's sentiments were the same toward Dilla, "Dude was amazing. He just kinda came outta nowhere and the more you heard his beats the better they got. He may not be here with us, but it's all good we're going to keep his music alive and well."

Jay Stay Paid will be released on June 2nd on Nature Sounds.

Rob Dyrdek.. Making Moves...

Rob Dyrdek is really making some skateboard mogul moves.. With his MTV Fun Factory show, his resturant with L.A. Lakers player Lamar Odom, his new skate hotel in Vegas, and now his newest project.. "Street Dreams", which is his full out big screen picture, Rob aint holding back.. He even got professional skateboarders/actors Ryan Sheckler, Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Dunn, and Terry Kennedy holding it down in the flick. Rob is jive for this one, but for some reason, I have a funny feeling this one is going to blow up and he is really opening some doors for the skateboarding community no question...

GOBZ SHOW: Take Me Home Vol. 1 trailer #2

Stay Busy.....

Here are a few dope projects that you can flip in the office while trying to stay busy at the workplace.. With just some office supplies and around the corner coffee stuff and a creative mind you can flip some ill ass models.. For instance the Mario Cart built by Donald Kennedy.. It's made out of colored paper clips, binding clips, push pins, and loose change.. Or the original series Star Trek Enterprise model made out of a couple of binder clips, an old CD, a couple of ink pens... Better yet what about the Dan Winters Star Wars Tie Fighter model out of Starbucks cups, cup insulation jackets and coffee stirrers, super creative if you ask me... But let's say you are not that creative, then try hitting a paper craft project site...You just download a PDF with instructions and colored templates for the models, print, on paper or card stock, grab your scissors and white glue, and you've got hours of cutting, folding, and gluing fun ahead of you. ( Refering to RObo Cop / Terminator Characters) But if you got a real amount of time and skill on your hands you can grab 25 sheets of 4 x 8 single-ply cardboard, you can construct a 17' tall model of Gandhi!
